DAP Sri Aman received a request from a former policeman, Sergeant Major (Rtd) Sempurai ak Seman of Sri Aman to highlight his problem which occured in 1990.

Today DAP Sri Aman received a request from a former policeman, Sergeant Major (Rtd) Sempurai ak Seman of Sri Aman to highlight his problem which occured in 1990.

He was technically 'forced' to retire from the police force, somehow his birthdate that was recorded in the system was 2 years earlier than his actual birthdate.  He was born 1938, but department's record showed that he was born in 1936.

Instead of serving for 37 years, Mr Sampurai only managed to serve for 35 years only. This has left a feeling of frustration with Mr Sampurai, who felt he has been robbed of 2 years of service to the force & country.

He has tried looking for help from various avenue's such as using legal means to have proper compensation from the force but until today, there has never been any reply from the respective government agencies.

Mr Sampurai said the reason why he chose to highlight his case through the Sri Aman DAP because he respects the DAP Sri Aman leadership for always highlighting the Rakyat of Sri Aman problems.

Leon Donald said "Mr Sampurai should be duly compensated and I urge the CP of Sarawak & IGP to not only look into the welfare of active police officers but also please look into the welfare of retired policemen as well, considering the members of the Police force have contributed & sacrificed so much for the safety & well being of our country."

Leon Jimat Donald visited Mr Surik ak Muntai, the victim of a brutal attack by gangsters

Leon Jimat Donald visited Mr Surik ak Muntai, the victim of a brutal attack by gangsters at Sg Menyan school, Balai Ringin, at the General Hospital in Kuching today.

'I am still shocked at the news of the attack until today as i never would have suspected the perpetrators would resort to violence' said Leon

Leon also added that it was good that Mr Surik was recovering well & in good spirits although he suffered very serious wounds where he had to receive two pints of blood before the doctors operated on his wounds.

'I urge the police to be more alert and more responsive to the needs of the rakyat of Melikin since this is a second case; as where the first case involving the people of Melikin was the atempted arson on Michael Luang's car near the end of last year. The police must do their duty without fear or favour. In this particular case, it is rumoured that the perpetrators of this heinous crime is connected to some of the top leadership in the State. So now, the people are watching how the police would be discharging their duties,' added Leon.

Minta fail en Ho dibuka semula

SRI AMAN - DAP Sri Aman together with Leon Jimat Donald today has met Mr Ho at his home, to discuss on a letter that was sent to him by the police pertaining the news of their investigation on his case
DAP SRI AMAN was given a copy of the letter from the police which was addressed to Mr Ho.
The police has said that they will not continue to investigate the case because the Attorney General's Office has advised the police that no further action should be taken as there is insufficient evidence.
On behalf of Mr Ho, DAP Sri Aman wishes to extend Mr Ho's request to the  police & public prosecutor (AG) that the case must be reopened and fresh investigations be conducted.

The Evidence is overwhelming
-   Money was never withdrawn by Mr Ho & the existence of the BSN Bank acct was never known to Mr Ho or his family members until their visit to the welfare dept

-   CCTV recording identifying suspect has been acquired from BSN.

This case must be dealt swiftly & delicately as it is a matter of public interest.

The family of Mr Ho is now more than willing to aid the police in their investigation of this case

Taman Gamang Residents complain of blocked drains after years of neglect by council

SRI AMAN -The DAP Sri Aman today received numerous complaints from Taman Gamang residents in Sri Aman, about the drains being clogged by soil siltation over so many years. The complainants said the drainage in front of their houses have been blocked for these many years & there has been a pool of water there for so many years.

According to residents, the bl
ocked drainage was due to siltation of the soil & sand surrounding the housing estate building up all these many years. During flash floods years before, their furniture were destroyed. And it is claimed by the residents that the MDSA did send somebody to check on the situation a few times, but until now, there has been no action by the council.

According to Leon 'there are nearly 50 residential homes affected by flash floods during rainy seasons because of these drains are not repaired by the Sri Aman District Council. These people from Taman Gamang are rate-payers therefore should not have been neglected as they have never delayed paying their dues to the Council, so the council should not ignore their request for the drains to be repaired.'

'We will be officially writing to MDSA to request for them to repair the drainage as soon as possible' added Leon.

Beri ruang Bumiputera Dayak Sarawak tonjol diri – Leon Jimat Donald

Beri ruang Bumiputera Dayak Sarawak tonjol diri – Leon Jimat Donald
24 December 2012
